How many tickets will be sold for Super Ball IX?How many tickets will be sold for Super Ball IX? Schuyler County Sheriff Bill Yessman, in charge of security at SBIX, is estimating that only 40,000 to 50,000 people will show up for the Phish Festival in Watkins Glen, NY. Locals had expressed concerns of large amounts of fans descending on the local communities in and around Watkins Glen and partying like young people seeing a weekend of music from their favorite band.

Phish festival organziers and local town officials had put an attendance cap on the weekend event at 60,000.

Yessman said: “But it won’t reach the 60,000-fan cap that we had put on it. It doesn’t look like it’s going to be the maximum capacity. So it shouldn’t affect our residents as much as they had feared, I think.”

Locals shouldn’t worry about any cost related to managing the event by at least a dozen law enforcement agencies from across the Finger Lakes region. Revenue from the Phish festival will pay for necessities like that, not local taxpayers.

Drugs are bad, mmmkay?Sheriff Yessman goes on to give a tidbit of information that law enforcement probably has never publicly stated before for an event of this magnitude. People found with a small amount of illegal drugs will be allowed to walk free after their loot is confiscated. It’s suggested they won’t even be ticketed. If you’re caught with a large amount of illegal drugs or nitrous tanks, you will be arrested.

Get rid of the Nitrous, it really ruins the show for many of us! Have a good time and party, but that crap is no good! It brings a nasty element to the scene and a bad reputation to the band and it’s fans.

Big thanks to Sheriff Yessman! Thanks for not bringing down the hammer on SB9!
